PRESS RELEASE / 13 November 2018

With high demand for wheel loaders in India, SDLG will be introducing a 5 t-rated loader to the Indian market during the December event. The newest SDLG wheel loader features a larger bucket capacity, heavier operating weight and a new cooling design system.

SDLG will be unveiling a new 5 t-rated wheel loader in India during bauma Conexpo India 2018, which will be held at HUDA Ground, Gurgaon, Delhi, from December 11 to 14. The four-day event is one of the largest construction equipment tradeshows in Asia.

“With the Indian government continuing to invest in infrastructure, the new wheel loader will be a great fit for heavy-load applications such as material handling, land clearing and general earthmoving,” said Surat Mehta, head of the SDLG business in India.

Alongside the new loader, SDLG will also display the G9138 motor grader and the L946 wheel loader at bauma Conexpo India 2018. The G9138 motor grader is the smaller of two motor grader models that SDLG offers in the region and is ideal for construction of smaller municipal or rural roads. The G9138 is powered by a Deutz BF4M1013-15T3R/2 engine that has an output of 111 kW at 2100 rpm and can reach maximum 39 km/h forward and 24 km/h backward speeds. SDLG launched the L946 wheel loader at Excon in December 2017. It features a maximum 3.5 m³ bucket capacity, a maximum 1 m dumping distance and a 129 kW rated power.

Since 2015, the construction industry in India has grown. Mehta says he expects the trend to continue.

“For wheel loaders, SDLG has a strong market position in the 3- to 5-ton range, and we plan to further strengthen our position,” Mehta said. “For motor graders, there is potential to grow our customer base as well, with road construction activity levels remaining high in India.”

Bauma Conexpo India 2018 is organized by Messe München and the Association of Equipment Manufacturers. Some 650 exhibitors from 30 countries are expected at this year’s event.
