Star Blue Metals recently added an L946 to its fleet of robust SDLG wheel loaders to manufacture metal products for the Indian market.
For close to a decade Star Blue Metals, an Indian metal supplier, relied on three SDLG wheel loaders to support its crushing plant in Chennai, India. The company recently added a 4 t rated L946 wheel loader to its fleet since they were so impressed with the value and service SDLG equipment and dealers deliver.
“Over the past seven years, the SDLG wheel loaders have delivered excellent support to our operations,” said G. Nantha Kumar, business head of Star Blue Metals. “Our operators like the cabin environment and machine controls as it is easy to use. We were convinced with SDLG’s value and performance that we decided to purchase our fourth SDLG wheel loader last year.”
The L946 wheel loader has a maximum bucket capacity of 3.5 m3, a maximum dumping distance of 1 m and a maximum operating weight of 13,000 kg. L946 wheel loaders are fitted with high-roll buckets offering extra reach that is especially useful when loading onto trucks with high sides.
“The L946 is a great addition to our fleet because of its simplicity, value and reliability,” Kumar said. “When we only have a few machines in our fleet it’s important for us to invest in a brand that delivers consistent quality and service.”
On site since 2012, the three existing wheel loaders — two units of the 3 t rated LG936L and one LG938L — are mainly used to load aggregates onto trucks. Working between five to nine hours a day, the wheel loaders transport an average of 500 tons of materials daily. The wheel loaders are expected to remain on site for another two years.
Star Blue Metals purchased all SDLG wheel loaders from Advanced Construction Technologies (ACT), SDLG’s distributor in Chennai, India.
